Kind of Blue Miles Davis
Field Notes
In the early nineties, I would sneak into the basement of a Cincinnati jazz dive called The Blue Wisp, where I discovered the enchanting sounds of bebop. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere, a few tunes resonated on a different level. It was there, underage and sipping on a 7Up, that I first heard "So What," and my ear was forever attuned to the allure of cool jazz. With Miles Davis accompanied by Bill Evans, John Coltrane, and Cannonball Adderley, this album stands as one of the greatest records of all time.
