Amidst the uncertainty of the pandemic, Tom Ashbrook released one of the most emotive instrumental albums I’ve ever encountered. His seamless blend of piano and synth layers transcends auditory experience, evoking sensations that go beyond sound. When I first discovered his music, it felt as though I could not only hear it but also see, feel, and even taste it. The album stirs a spectrum of emotions—inviting listeners to cry, smile, scream, and sit in stillness. While it undoubtedly taps into the shared uncertainty of the COVID era, what lingers most is a profound sense of hope. The opening track, “Klass,” sets the stage for a deeply transformative journey.
