The production value of Willie Nelson's Teatro, courtesy of Daniel Lanois, was first brought to my attention as a masterclass in microphone placement during my early years as an audio engineering student at Columbia College Chicago. The album was recorded live over four days in an abandoned theater in Oxnard, CA. I vividly remember sitting in the studio with fellow audio enthusiasts, all of us captivated by the dynamic range and composition of this remarkable record.
